TRUTH OR DARE

2) Comment around ICly asking other characters "truth or dare?"
3) Truth is self-explanatory; dares should involve tagging out to another character's top level somehow ("Insult someone you find terrifying", "Tell someone you think is hot one thing you find sexy about them", "Strike up a conversation using the most awkward non-sequitur you can come up with", etc.)

[ After all, hasn't the detective already tortured everything out of him? What else could he ask that Lalo wouldn't want to answer? So this will be an easy one. ]

[ Casual, easy shrug, almost fluid from how loose and easy it is! ]

Nobody! Family is family. I would never cut any of them out. [ Is that the boring answer? Maybe! But it is the honest one. ] But... if my cousin Tuco wanted to leave, I wouldn't stop him. Might be better for 'im. He could get into...what's it called?...recovery!

[ This all gets a Look; to his mind it's a dodge. Also: ] You think a junkie's gonna want out all of a sudden? What fucking business are you in?

Dare.

[ It isn't, but Rust could be forgiven for thinking so. ] I didn't say that. [ An unfathomable hypothetical in response to Rust's equally unfathomable hypothetical. Cut out a family member? Unthinkable. Family is all.

There's look of contempt, only slightly softened around the edges by the fact that it's a special kind of contempt. It's definitely the kind of contempt you give your worst ex, not just any weirdo. ] Don't tell me you think cutting him off from the only support he has would be better. What business are you in?

[ Crosses his arms. Not unusual for most people, but it's a gesture of self-protection that's rare for Lalo. Like he's holding onto himself. ]

I dare you... [ He looks Rust up and down. ]

You know what? [ Little smile. ] I dare you to respond to at least three different people being charming. Be friendly. Be kind. Be interested. Smile!

...or, you know, try. Best you can do is fine.

But! Here's the kicker. You have to get at least one of them to agree to do something with orrrrr for you. Good luck. [ Winks. ]

[ After some time, Lalo comes back. His face is mostly expressionless, but his eyes reveal fury rising up from within.

But instead of committing some unspeakable act of violence, Lalo drops to his knees. He puts his hand on his knees and looks down. ]

Detective... I... am so sorry. For everything. It was wrong of me to kidnap you. It was wrong of me to lie to you. To everyone. You did the right thing. Exposing me.

[ He looks up at Rust, now, and he puts both hands together. Pleading. ]

But what I did to you, more than anybody, was imperdonable. I don't deserve it, but if you can find it your huge, huge, gracious heart to forgive me, I will do anything you ask.
