I don't live a dog owner lifestyle either, but he's a trained military dog. Different expectations for working dogs.

His name's Bear. He was my boss's, but my boss is probably dead.

Are they really high energy, military dogs? Or more like a mastiff.

He's a Belgian Malinois. Looks like a slightly smaller, sleeker German Shepherd. It's a mix of training, breeding, and personality, but, uh-- he's high-energy, but not hyper. He knows how to focus or relax when he's asked to. Doesn't mean he doesn't like playtime, though.

My friends were thinking about getting a dog. Don't know if they will now but I still think about what they’d like.

A good dog really brings a team together. I used to say Bear was the only reason I signed up with that crew, and that wasn't totally true, but - he was a big part of it.

I wouldn't blame you. My partner’s old military crew shows up everywhere I go and let me tell you, they don't share your winning personality.

But honestly, yeah, scars are hot, too.

Right?! My partner at home has this scar on her neck and she hates it. And like, yeah it's annoying to have to think about it when we're trying to go undercover but when we're alone she doesn't even need to worry about it.

So many people are self-conscious about that stuff; I just don't get it. It's a sign that they're badass.

Exactly! How many people can say they survived an injury like that?

And my, uh-- my girlfriend used to do this thing where she'd catalogue my scars and go into detail about exactly how she was going to hurt everyone who'd hurt me - that was also really hot. There's really no downside.

No shame in it. Can't play it myself, only picked up a couple scars in a brief dumb ass hero phase in my twenties.

It's way easier to get hurt when you're sticking your neck out for people. Stay in your lane and things work out fine.
