There was a time not too long ago when he was desperate to get out of our job. It was a bad place for him and me. He wanted to do something that would have caused just... so many problems for himself if he went through with it. It would have ended his career, probably, but it was, like... cutting off your leg to get rid of a persistent itch levels of drastic. So, I had to talk him down from that and guilt him just a little bit about trying to put the decision about whether or not to do that on me.

It worked and he didn't end up going through with his plan. But at the time, I felt really bad. I had to be really stern with him and use his guilt complex to make him stop planning around that.
