GAME CLOSURE

Hi all! Head mod Thalia here, with a more somber announcement.

I think, given the lack of updates and general struggles with game pacing lately, this is probably writing on the wall for most of you, but after conferring with the co-mod team I've decided to close the game. I've had an absolute blast planning this out and running it for the short time that it's been alive - watching the plot develop as characters interact with it in their own unique ways, your problem-solving and theory-crafting sessions - it's all been incredibly rewarding. However, I also recognize that I'm just one human, and I made myself a rule that I would step away from the game if it ever started to feel like a job instead of a hobby. I think I crossed that threshold months ago and just didn't want to let go.

I definitely want to run a game of a similar format to this one in future, but I don't think a game that's this plot-heavy and time-based can be shelved and brought back without it being really awkward. So unfortunately, I'm going to have to put this particular setting and plot away indefinitely. I'm going to open up the plurk for this announcement, and the game discord, as a plot Q&A so that any lingering questions or theories people have can be answered. Additionally, if anyone is interested in being a plot mod for a game like this in the future, DM me. You can either PM my personal plurk ([plurk.com profile] manicmuse) or discord (manicmuse) or PM this mod journal, and I'll keep a list to contact when I'm ready to give this another shot. Starting the game by myself was definitely the biggest mistake I made when planning Glencola Reef's run - I don't plan to make it again.

Thanks to everyone that participated as a player, and a special thanks to co-mods Alex, Amanda, and Amber for stepping up early on to assist with book-keeping to help me stay on my feet. The game definitely would not have succeeded where it did, for as long as it did, without all of your enthusiastic involvement. Hope to see you all in the future!
